There are a few options for giving to the Lord. You can give towards our NZ Mission work, International Mission work, Care Fund or Building Fund:
NZ Mission Work (default option if you don’t specify):
Money given to New Zealand Missions is used to run DCBC and its ministries in New Zealand.
This provides the resources used for a wide range of ministries, such as those for children, youth and young adults, for hubs (home groups), for reaching out into the community around us, for training and leadership development and for evangelism.
It also provides the funds to pay staff, rental of buildings, electricity, phones and other administration costs.
International Mission work:
Money given to International Missions helps support the evangelistic ministries DCBC is involved in around the world, which includes supporting our overseas missionaries and the work they and others are involved In beyond our borders currently in parts of South East Asia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands.
Care Fund:
Money donated to the care fund is used to help people in need by providing emergency food supplies and to provide urgent financial help along with budget advice.
Building Fund:
Money donated to the building fund will be used to build our new church centre on the land we have purchased below Lookout Point, Dunedin.
Ways to give
You can use our envelope system to have your donation recorded against your offering/donation number. Alternatively you can use internet banking to make a donation or setup an automatic payment to make this donation regular. See below for details:
Offering numbers and tax rebates:
To encourage giving to charities the government rebates tax on money that you earn and donate. For a rebate to be given you will need a DCBC offering/donation number and you'll need to use that number every time you give. This way the treasurer can keep a confidential record of your giving and issue you a tax receipt at the end of the financial year.
For an offering/donation number, contact the church office connect@dcbc.co.nz.
If you have an offering/donation number you can claim a rebate of 1/3 of the amount you have given (up to the limit of your salary). In other words for every $ you give IRD will give you back 33.3% as a tax return at the end of each tax year.
Cash giving:
You can drop your cash giving into the black offering box outside the kitchen. Alternatively, if you have a donation number, put the money in an offering envelope (grab one from the information table), write your offering number on it and drop it into the black box outside the kitchen.
