When: 9th-11th February 2024 (Fri night 7.30pm – Sun arvo 4pm)

If you have already registered, please remember to bring some baking to share. If you are not coming to camp but would still like to donate some baking, this can be left in the church kitchen on Friday before 3pm. Thank you!

Camp Programme:

Friday night
– Anytime after 4pm – Arrive and setup tents
– 7.30pm Bonfire and around the fire activities

Saturday
– Breakfast (self-catered- can use the Main Hall and Kitchen)
– Anytime before 10am – arrive and setup tents
– Morning devotional time
– 10am Service- Worship time together, speaker- Matthew Scott, Children’s program, Small groups – interacting with the message
– 12pm Lunchtime (self-catered- can use the BBQ’s, Main Hall and Kitchen)
– 1pm All-in group activity- fun games and activities camp style- (catering for all)
– Free time- Optional activities
– 6pm Dinner- Provided (Nachoes)
– Worship night
– Café and free time

Sunday
– Breakfast (self-catered- can use the Main Hall and Kitchen)
– Morning devotional time
– 10.45am Sunday service – Worship time together, Speaker- Matthew Scott, Children’s programme.
– 12pm Lunchtime- Provided (Sausage sizzle BBQ)
– 1pm All-in group activity (catering for all)
– 3pm Camp clean-up

Church Camp is primarily a tenting and self-catered camp. We warmly encourage day visitors for all or part of the time and if you are not a tenting person we do have a limited number of bunkroom accommodation available. Please indicated below if you would like one of these beds.

Please BRING YOUR OWN:

  1. Breakfast food (milk is provided)
  2. Lunch food (for Saturday lunch)
  3. snack foods & drinks (whatever you need to keep you going during the day)
  4. baking or bought biscuits to share (please bring to the camp kitchen on arrival)
  5. plates & cutlery and tea-towel to dry your own dishes
  6. picnic-type chair (for meetings and meals)
  7. tent/caravan if you are camping

There are 3 BBQ’s available to use for your meals if required and a small amount of crockery and cutlery available from the camp kitchen, if you forget your own.

Please note that Saturday dinner (nachos) and Sunday lunch (sausage sizzle) will be provided. BYO plates and cutlery and chairs for these meals.

The Waiora Scout Camp will be open from 4pm on Friday afternoon so you can set up your camp site and be ready for an awesome weekend together.

The Youth Group will be staying all together in the bunkrooms surrounding the main hall and will be having extra activities throughout the weekend. Contact Taylor & Aria Clarke, Youth Group leaders, for more information.

Cost:

Overnight rate – includes staying all day:

Family/couples: $75 per night (any parent or parents with any number of kids, including youth group kids)

Single: $30 per night

Youth group coming on their own (without parents): $20 per night

Day rate – come out for any part of any day:

Family/couples: $50 per day (any parent or parents with any number of kids) does not include staying overnight

Single: $25 per day
