40 years ago I found Jesus (or rather He found me), my life was radically changed and I have not looked back since. I love serving God and His people and the local church is a wonderful place to do that. I am convinced the primary way God grows His church is by means of His Word, empowered by his Spirit – transforming the lives of those who hear, read and study it.
I am married to my best friend and ministry partner, Francelle. We have four adult children and share a love of the outdoors. We also enjoy books, travel, meeting new people and a good movie.
Kia ora, My name is Mike and I am a pastor here at DCBC. In my leadership roles I am motivated by working in teams, growing teams and raising up new leaders. I enjoy talking with people about life, faith, God and church. One of the fascinating parts of my role is having the opportunity to connect with people who have a range of different life experiences, perspectives and beliefs in God; I especially enjoying meeting new people.
I am married to Susan, who is a GP and a partner at her practice in South Dunedin, and we have three tamariki: Nathan, Scarlet and Hazel.
When I am not spending time with my family, I love to roam around the hills and beaches of Dunedin with our dog or mountain bike. I use the word “roam” because I am not very fit and wander the hills very slowly, thinking (day-dreaming) about God and life in general.

I am married to Tim (who leads the School of Arts at University of Otago), we have 4 strapping sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law and two very precious grandchildren!
We love board games and backyard cricket, camping, exploring and anything to do with the beach and especially playing with our new puppy!
I have been a Dunedin girl since moving here as a student and now call it home with my husband Euan and our three girls.
As well as experience in science research, I have been in pastoral ministry and leadership for over twenty years and joined the Pastoral Leadership Team at DCBC in 2025. I have the fun job of facilitating spiritual growth through discipleship that extends beyond Sunday services. One of my favourite things to do is to help people get unstuck and grow in their relationship with God to pursue the ministry calling He has for their life.
I also enjoy studying theology and helping others engage with Scripture in a meaningful and faith-filled way.
When I’m not enjoying the company of my amazing teenagers, you’ll find me reading and writing around Dunedin’s beaches and cafes and chasing the sun.
My name is Robin Taylor, and I re-joined the PLT in 2025 after spending 12 years back in Scotland, my home country. I am a medic by profession, and back in Scotland I was leader for introducing a national Care Plan for patients with complex or end-of-life illness who come into hospital acutely.
Back in 1999, I was asked to help at what is now Musselburgh Baptist Church, and somewhat to my surprise, but with God’s leading, I became the part-time pastor for 8 years. This meant some changes in my work life – job-sharing with a younger consultant who was also a 7-times mother.
From 2007 till 2012 I was Young Adults pastor here at DCBC. I now live in North Taieri, and after 47 years, there is no more medicine.
I am learning how to look after some calves and manage a huge garden. But my heart remains focused in seeking to encourage younger Christians to grow and persevere in the faith in an era when to do so is such an immense challenge.
